1. Choose an Installation Location
Identify a secure and accessible location to install the EMP Shield. Commonly recommended spots include:
Near the vehicle’s battery
Close to the fuse box or main power distribution panel
Ensure the location is dry, free of obstructions, and allows the device’s wires to reach necessary connection points.
2. Disconnect the Vehicle’s Battery
Safety first! Disconnect the negative terminal of your vehicle’s battery to avoid accidental electrical shorts while installing the EMP Shield.
WARNING Electricity can cause severe injury and may be fatal. We recommend only certified electricians or mechanics install the EMP Shield. Do not touch the exposed positive side of the battery and the negative side of the battery simultaneously (or any piece of metal connected to the chassis as this could cause a spark or shock).
3. Mount the EMP Shield
Use the provided screws or mounting hardware to secure the EMP Shield to the chosen location. Ensure the device is firmly in place and will not shift during vehicle operation.
4. Connect the Ground Wire
Locate a suitable grounding point on your vehicle. This is typically a metal surface or bolt that’s connected directly to the vehicle’s chassis. Attach the EMP Shield’s ground wire (green) using a ring terminal and secure it tightly to the grounding point.
5. Connect to the Battery
Attach the EMP Shield’s positive (red) and negative (black) wires to the corresponding terminals of your vehicle’s battery. Use a wire stripper to prepare the ends if necessary and secure the connections tightly.
6. Test the Connections
Double-check all connections to ensure they are secure and correctly installed. Reconnect the vehicle’s battery and power on the vehicle. Verify that the EMP Shield’s indicator light (if available) is operational, confirming proper installation.
7. Secure the Wiring
Neatly bundle and secure any excess wiring using zip ties. Avoid placing wires near moving parts, sharp edges, or high-heat areas to prevent damage over time
